The Yurta is perched on a spectacular 600 square foot deck, offering dramatic views of the neighbouring mountains. A modern wood burning stove ensures comfort year round. Japanese accents reinforce the clean simple design of the yurt.
Yurta yurts are built in Canada and inspired by the semi-permanent homes of the indigenous peoples of Central and East Asia. They are made of white ash wood (fraxinus americana) which is visible from the inside. Its lighter look optimizes the yurt’s feel of space without sacrificing its warmth and comfort in cooler weather. In fact, it is insulated with real wool. With windows in the structure, the circular space is accessible and airy, making the interior of the yurt feel like an extension of its natural surroundings. The large operable sky window in the centre of the space allows for tracking the sun and clouds throughout the day… and the stars at night. Lodging at the Terra Perma Yurta is really an incredible experience.
