Come learn about wild foods at Terra Perma!
Terra Perma’s incredible diversity of species and environments allows for some really incredible wild harvesting. Come participate in an edible wild plant and mushroom harvesting excursion. We’ll show you how to identify and use a large variety of edible and medicinal plants and fungi. As well, we will look at few plants and skills for wilderness survival. You will learn the techniques for responsible, sustainable harvesting, so the resources are protected for your lifetime and for future generations. You will also get to sample some wild teas and taste some of the wild foods we discover.
The focus of the workshop is on learning about the different plants and not on spending our time harvesting lots of specific foods, though we will definitely gather enough to sample the different plants and mushrooms.
We will be walking in the forest on our trails, sometimes uphill, so may be difficult for people with mobility issues.
